NCAA: Nigerian Athlete, Chinecherem Nnamdi, Misses Out On Javelin Title At NCAA Finals

Nigeria U20 athlete, Chinecherem Prosper Nnamdi, couldn’t manage a top three position in javelin at the 2022 National Collegiate Athletics Association Outdoor Track and Field Championship.

Chinecherem’s throw of 78.61m to put him and Baylor University Track and Field in 5th position as University of Pennsylvania’s Marc Minichello with a throw of 81.17m to set a program and Ivy-league record in the win.

The throw earned Chinecherem a javelin first team All-American in his first year of collegiate competition, also setting a new school record for Baylor Track and Field.

To complete the top four, Ethan Dabbs of Virginia Cavaliers (79.68m), Tzuriel Pedigo of Louisiana State University (78.90m) and Wichita State’s Taran Taylor (78.76m).
