Goals from Sallai, Nagy and Gazdag saw Hungary thump England in the Ongoing Nations league.
Hungary humiliated England 4-0 away on Tuesday to go top of their Nations League group and hand the hosts their worst home defeat for 94 years. Having not beaten England in 60 Years, Hungary have now beaten England twice in the space of 10 days!
Both England and Hungary were looking to bounce back from a disappointing result last time out. The both teams drew their last match and were looking for redemption. England needed the win the most as they are still winless in this Nation’s league.
England Manager, Gareth Southgate said he takes full responsibility for the loss as he hasn’t got the balance right in the two games against Hungary. He said “After the first goal the anxiety crept in a little bit and we weren’t able to recover from that.”
England face Italy next as they would be seeking to get their first win in this year’s Nations league as Hungary top the standings with seven points with Germany and Italy in second and third respectively while England is bottom of the group with two points and chances of their qualification is slim.
