Gabriel Jesus Bangs Brace On Debut To Hand Gunners Win Over Nurnberg

Nurnberg and Arsenal faced of at the 50,000 capacity Max-Morlock-Stadion in pre-season game that produced eight goals, including a brace for Arsenal’s new Brazilian signing, Gabriel Jesus.

This was the first opportunity to catch a glimpse of Arsenal new boys Gabriel Jesus, Matt Turner and Marquinhos. Fabio Vieira joined up with the squad but a recent foot injury ruled him out of the clash.

The first half saw the North London side down by two goals with goals by Johannes Geis and Kwadwo Duah putting the home side up. Despite trailing 2-0 at the break, Arteta’s half time changes made the difference as debutant Gabriel Jesus powered home inside 90 seconds of his first appearance for the club.

Mo Elneny’s wonder strike brought the London side level shortly after, before two own goals and a Gabriel Jesus second in the closing minutes of the game ensuring Arsenal head off on their United States tour with their heads held high.

Arsenal will jet out to the United States for other pre-season friendlies next week, they will face Everton in Baltimore before meeting Orlando City and Chelsea on the 20th and 23rd of July respectively. They complete their pre-season schedule in the Emirates Cup at home to Sevilla on Saturday, July 30, before the big Premier League kick off away to Crystal Palace on Friday, August 5.
