The signings of Highly Rated strikers – ERLING Haaland By Manchester City and DARWIN Nunez by Liverpool is no longer news to football’s faithfuls as both teams look to boost their squads ahead yet another demanding and grueling EPL season come August. Today we take a look into both strikers and discuss who we feel is more likely to make the EPL his stomping ground.

Erling Haaland has been a name familiar on everyone’s lips since his breakout season for Austrian Power House – RB SALZBURG with his impressive UCL Campaign OF 2020/2021 season earning him 10 goals and 2 assists putting him in the limelight of all football lovers. The 1.95m Norwegian striker was soon to move to German Side – Borussia Dortmund and didn’t look to stop his exploits with a whooping 85 goals in 88 games all but sealing his stand as arguably the best striker amongst his peers. Erling Haaland was first noticed when he scored 9 goals for the Norwegian team in U20 World Cup as his team dismantled a Honduras side 13-0 and he was picked up by Rb Salzburg from MOLDE football club in Norway and with the emergence of the UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE, he settled in quickly and made sure to make the whole world hear of his firing power, it didn’t take long before Borussia Dortmund snapped the striker up and of course he made sure goal scoring wasn’t a problem as he picked up from where he left off. Being subject to transfer over the last 2 seasons, he was signed by Manchester City who over the years have struggled to have a recognised striker with Pep Guardiola not trusting Sergio Aguero (who he would later sell to Barcelona) and GABRIEL Jesus (who he left off from important matches), The Spaniard Gaffer most times played without a striker in games. The signing of ERLING Haaland shows intent as ‘THE CITYZENS’ look to add more goal scoring flair and defend thier EPL crown which they won on the final day of the 2021/2022 season after coming back from a scarce by Aston Villa to win 3-2 from 2 goals down.

Much hasn’t been said about the 1.87m Uruguayan striker whose story hasn’t been substantial over the years to which he may be called a huge figure but we cannot forget his immense contribution to Benfica this past season. Signed from Uruguayan Club side PENAROL in the 2019/2020 season by Spanish side UD ALMERIA for a whopping 15.25m fee, alot was expected from the striker and he duly delivered with his season’s exploits of 16 goals in 30 appearances earning him recognition and SL BENFICA taking him within their ranks. He was to go ahead and score 47 goals and 16 assists for Benfica in two seasons and had a further 6 goal contributions for his team in the UCL (6G, 0A). It wouldn’t take long though as Jurgen Klopp who has made most of the impressive signings of the last few seasons would look into his direction and snap him from the Portuguese side for a 85m fee and the striker is seen as a potential replacement for outgoing Sadio Mané whose likely move to Bayern Munich is imminent.

All is left to see who would reign supreme between these two strikers; who would take his team to the predestined heights and who would score more this coming season in what looks likely yet again to be a two horse race. We all can’t wait and come August…. We would know Who is fit to be called EPL’s goal scoring king.
